Thank you for your comment. Aflasafe is a simple but 'smart' aflatoxin management technology in that application of aflasafe in the field protects grains not only in the field but also during post-harvest stages in the store and until the grain is consumed. The reason for protection from aflatoxin accumulation along the entire value chain stems from the fact that infection of maize or groundnut grains by Aspergillus flavus starts when the crop is developing in the field. As a result toxin production begins when the toxin-producing strains infect in the field and these strains are carried over in the store where more aflatoxin production occurs. When aflasafe is applied in the field, the atoxigenic strains infect the crop and are carried over in the store. Even if storage conditions are favour fungal growth, the non-toxin producers proliferate instead of the toxin producers. As a result, less toxin contamination occur in grains harvested from aflasafe treated fields.

It's amazing the way you control aflatoxin contamination of maize in the field, I have a question: how do you control aflatoxin production during the storage of grain with the same Aflasafe product?
Thank you very much for your reply.
Sincerely,
Ernesto Moreno-Martinez

I am interested in your work. This is novel enough to try. But can you advice on the age of plant you used? Can you also say if your soil samples were treated to free it from nematodes?

need more information on the equipment for processing cassava. as well as where to get the raw materials in the north central. we have a skeletal garri production centre near abuja but getting raw materials at a profitable rate has hindered production
